Tiger

Tiger Boxing is one of many styles of Chinese Wushu. It imitates the tiger’s characteristics and is very good for the
whole body. The rest of Tiger Boxing dates back to time of “Dr. Hua To”, 19th Century, and constituted some of the
original Kung Fu exercises taught for health. As a fighting art, it traces its roots to Burma and the ancient methods
of “Bandasilat”. Tiger Boxing was a necessity for study because it encompassed all aspects of armed and unarmed
combat.

Tiger Boxing is not a flashy art. It doesn’t awe onlookers with its grace or fantastic moves. However, its looks can
fool you for this style of Kung Fu is powerful and deadly. For the most part, Tiger Boxing utilizes a hard, external
approach to combat that meets force with force and is very likely to maim or kill an opponent because of the nature
of the counterattack. Techniques used in Tiger Boxing are straight to the point and devastating. Students of Tiger
Boxing are trained to use every part of their body for attacks, from elbows, claws, forearms strikes to kicks, sweeps
and knees.

The primary hand weapons of Tiger Boxing are the closed fist and the tiger claw. Tiger claws are used as if grabbing
a bag of stones. All fingertips strike first, then the claws grab so that the area between the fingertips and knuckles
break the target. Tiger claw is also used to pull, rip or tear at an opponent. Pressure points are also hit in a way that
the fingers can then sink into the area needed for extra pain and effect.

Tiger Docks And Attacks

The kicks in Tiger Boxing are mostly aimed at the lower targets such as knees and groin. This is quicker and stops
the student from attacking areas that aren’t debilitating. Low kicks also help in the foundation and stances during
the fight. Students of Tiger Boxing are trained to be able to launch attacks at the slightest hint of reaction from an
assailant. Students are also taught to apply the best technique to an attack that can stop and take an opponent out
the quickest.

Practitioners of Tiger Boxing not only can be benefited from it in health or self-defense aspects, it also can develop
a stronger and self-confident personality within. Respect is an important part of Tiger Boxing. It is important for a
Tiger Boxer to respect other people, be humble, and use his knowledge the right way. Tiger Boxing students are
taught to be honest, dedicated, respectful and considerate.
