White Eyebrow Kung Fu, also known as Pak Mei, was created by a Shaolin Monk named Pak Mei during the late
1600s. Legends have it that the Monk Pak Mei killed four brother monks to test the effectiveness of his new
developed art. Later on the style was forbidden in the temple and he was asked to leave the Shaolin Temple for
good. Ever since then the style has been passed secretly from teacher to student, earning it the reputation
“forbidden style”.
White Eyebrow Kung Fu is one of the fewest systems that combine both Shaolin and Taoist practices into a
single fighting style. It is a lethal style, not modified for sporting applications. Techniques in White Eyebrow
Kung Fu are not based upon brute strength, but precise execution and attacks to sensitive pressure points. The
forms are focus on hand techniques attacking vulnerable targets, movement and body positioning.
Practitioners of White Eyebrow Kung Fu focuses on quick explosive hand techniques combined with fast
stepping footwork. They are commonly known for using the phoenix eye fist. They also utilize the panther fist,
tiger claw and elbow. White Eyebrow Kung Fu students start their training by conditioning the muscles in their
arms and forearms by continually striking a sand or gravel bag. The White Eyebrow Kung Fu practitioner
concentrates his force to a single point while hitting it quickly in close range to develop extreme power to the
attack. Because counter strikes are immediately available, a White Eyebrow Kung Fu practitioner uses an
infinite number of combinations and counters.
The sidestepping movements, also referred to as triangle footwork, helps the White Eyebrow practitioner avoid
an opponents initial move and places him in the most advantageous position for delivering multiple
combinations of fast continuous hand and elbow strikes that can overwhelm an opponent by sheer multiplicity.
Kicking in White Eyebrow Kung Fu is kept to below the waist for the most part. The body positioning exerts
power through waist torque and weight distribution. White Eyebrow Kung Fu’s most unique features are that it's
movements are based upon the characteristics of the tiger, footwork is initially emphasized and then the horse
stance, and internal and external energy are combined as a unit.
The study of White Eyebrow Kung Fu offers students a lifetime of pursuit, promoting overall fitness and
longevity. It is a style with deep traditional roots and respect for its heritage. Patience and hard work is
emphasized in mastering White Eyebrow Kung Fu.
